What is Conquer the Map?

Conquer the Map is a free-to-play, browser-based multiplayer strategy game inspired by classic territory-conquest board games. Up to 6 players compete to dominate the map through tactical army placement, attacks, and diplomacy — no download required.

How do I start playing?

You can jump in immediately without an account: • Click Play Online → vs Bots to start a solo game against AI • Click Play Online → Casual to find or create an open multiplayer room • Click Rooms to browse open games or create a private room with a code Create a free account to earn coins, track stats, and appear on the leaderboard.

Do I need to create an account?

No. You can play as a guest at any time. However, creating a free account lets you earn coins after each game, build your ranking, track your history, and unlock the full profile experience. Sign up takes under 30 seconds.

How do coins work?

Coins are earned after multiplayer games with at least 3 human players: • 1st place: 10 coins • 2nd place: 4 coins • 3rd place: 2 coins • 4th+ place: 1 coin Your account email must be verified to receive coins. Coins contribute to your rating and leaderboard position.

What is Premium?

Premium is an optional subscription that unlocks hosting 5–6 player games, a crown badge on your profile, priority matchmaking, exclusive chat emotes, and a gold frame on the leaderboard. The free tier supports up to 4 players per room. Premium is $6.99/month or less on longer plans.

What are the game phases?

Each round consists of: 1. Setup — Players claim territories and place starting armies 2. Draft — Receive reinforcement armies based on territories and continents owned 3. Attack — Optionally attack adjacent enemy territories using dice 4. Fortify — Move armies from one territory to an adjacent one you own The round then repeats until one player achieves their mission objective.

What are Country Cards?

You draw a Country Card at the end of each turn in which you conquered at least one territory. Cards come in Infantry, Cavalry, and Artillery types, plus wild cards. Trade in a matching set of 3 during your draft phase to receive bonus armies.

What are Situational Cards?

A Situational Card is drawn at the start of each full round and affects all players. Examples: Snow gives defenders extra dice, Favorable Wind gives attackers a bonus die, Extra Reinforcements grants the active player bonus armies. Visit the Blog for a full strategy guide.

Can I play on mobile?

Yes. The game is playable in mobile browsers. The interface scales for smaller screens, though the full desktop experience is recommended for the best gameplay.
